A heartbreaking diagnosis that led to a life that has touched many people.
How Spencer's Story Began
As a child, Spencer lived a pretty typical life. If he wasn’t playing outside playing football with his friends, he was probably inside trying to beat a new video game. But Spencer’s life would change on a family camping trip when he was bitten by a spider or some sort of insect. He was sent to the hospital where the doctors would discover life-changing news.
Spencer was diagnosed with encephalitis.
Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain, this delayed Spencer’s mental development significantly. After a decade his encephalitis worsened leaving him in conditions where the family feared he had little time to live.
They contacted us to create a video that preserved precious moments from Spencer’s life and his impact on friends, family, and classmates. This way the family can always remember and be grateful for their dear Spencer.
What we learned from Spencer
Spencer taught us that regardless of our circumstances, we can still live a life that is filled with meaning. Our circumstances don’t dictate our attitude or our outcome. People can be inspired by a friendly smile or a compliment or how we respond to adversity.
